Kaleidoscope Subscription License Overview
Kaleidoscope subscription licenses allow one user to use all features of the latest version of Kaleidoscope for one year.
Hosts and Guests
One host can own and manage multiple Kaleidoscope subscription licenses for themselves and/or multiple guest users.
Purchasing a Kaleidoscope Subscription License
You can purchase a Kaleidoscope Subscription license directly from Wildlife Acoustics or from third-party resellers outside the United States.
Apply a Subscription Credit Code
When you manually purchase subscription credits directly from Wildlife Acoustics or from some third-party resellers, you must apply the credits to an account using a credit code.
Kaleidoscope Subscription Credits
Kaleidoscope subscription credits represent one-year subscriptions that have not started yet.
Activate a Kaleidoscope Subscription License
Activating a license allows an installation of Kaleidoscope on one computer to use the full set of features.
Manually Activate a Subscription License
If the Kaleidoscope software cannot reach the license server, you can manually activate your license using a web browser.
Move a Subscription License Between Computers
Both hosts and guests have the ability to change which computers Kaleidoscope is active on. For example, if a user upgrades to a new computer, they can release their subscription from the old computer and activate it on the new computer.
License Management for Hosts and Single Users
If you own one or more subscriptions yourself, you have flexible control over how those subscriptions are used.
Grant Guest Access to Your Subscription Licenses
You may grant someone access to use any subscriptions you own while maintaining ownership of those subscriptions.
Reassign an Active Subscription from One User to Another
As a host, you can reassign an active subscription to move it between users while retaining ownership of the subscription.
Parking Subscriptions
Parking a subscription allows a host to hold an active subscription without granting anyone access to use it.
Transfer a Subscription Credit to Another User
Unused subscription credits can be fully transferred to someone else, giving them full ownership of those credits.
Transfer Ownership of an Active Subscription
As a host, you can fully transfer an active subscription so that it is owned by another person's account.
Subscription Auto-Renewal
The auto-renew feature allows Kaleidoscope to automatically apply subscription credits, and optionally purchase new ones, to extend expiring subscriptions.
License Management for Guests
If you are hosted by another user, you have the ability to use their Kaleidoscope subscriptions, but your ability to manage those subscriptions is limited.
Separate from a Host
As a guest, you can separate yourself from your host if you wish to manage your own subscriptions independently.
Subscription License Status Definitions
On the Subscriptions page, the Status column indicates the current state of a subscription.
Unable to Activate Kaleidoscope
If activating Kaleidoscope using your email address and password fails, pay close attention to the error message that is displayed.
Check Compatibility with Kaleidoscope Subscriptions on Servers and Multi-User Computers
Kaleidoscope subscriptions may work on some servers or multi-user machines, depending on the system.
