Can I Record Non-Bat Sounds with the Echo Meter Touch?

The Echo Meter Touch can be configured to record sounds other than bat echolocation pulses that are above 8 kHz, such as mice vocalizations. Because EMT settings are tuned by default to automatically record bats, a few setting changes are necessary.

In the advanced settings pane, turn "Real-Time Auto-ID" off. Turn "Save Noise Files" on so that recordings will be kept regardless of whether the app thinks it recorded a bat or not.

When you are in live mode, using the manual record button to create continuous recordings may be more useful than using the automatic, triggered recording mode, which is tuned for bats and may perform ideally with non-bat vocalizations.
