Kaleidoscope software will run on most current-generation computers. If you intend to process large data sets, we recommend using a computer with as many fast processing cores and as much RAM as possible.
For the best performance, all data should ideally be processed from a hard drive or solid state drive installed in the same computer that is running Kaleidoscope. A directly connected external hard drive can also be used. Files should not be processed over a network or to or from an SD card, or any other slow external storage medium.
Kaleidoscope is supported on Windows 7, 8.1, and 10, Red Hat Linux, and macOS 10.8 or later. For additional steps needed to install software on macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later, see this article.
